Abstract
We have succeeded in joining Pd40Ni40P20 bulk metallic glasses using a fric tion welding method where superplasticity of supercooled liquid was utilize d. No crystallization was observed in the interface zone, and no visible in terface was observed. The tensile strength of the joined bulk metallic glas ses was the same as that of the parent bulk metallic glass. (C) 2001 Acta M aterialia Inc. Published by Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
