The low firing temperature glass-ceramics of the system B2O3-P2O5-MgO-Al2O3
-SiO2 were investigated in the present paper. The effect of the heat-treatm
ent schedule on crystallization and the properties of crystal phases were a
nalyzed. This material has a low dielectric constant and a low dissipation
factor and can be co-fired with high conductivity metals such as Au, Ag/Pd,
Cu paste at low temperature (below 1000 degreesC), suggesting that it woul
d be a promising material for high-frequency MLCIs. (C) 2001 Kluwer Academi
