Abstract
A polarizerless reflective guest-host LCD, which exhibits high luminance an d good legibility has been fabricate by using NLC with Delta epsilon < 0 th at is doped with nanomaterial molecules, fullerene C-60, and dichroic dye m olecules, where the NLCs are homeotroptically aligned without rubbing. It i s considered that the doped C-60 molecules may play a role in reducing the order parameter of the host NLC, and in turn, the contrast ratio is enhance d.
