Abstract
Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) can measure the concentration changes in hemoglobin in the human brain noninvasively and is frequently used for the clinical monitoring of tissue oxygenation. However NIRS has also shown pote ntial for neuroimaging (functional near infrared spectroscopy, fNIRS). Appl ications of this technique are described in this article.
