Abstract
A model of the real photon structure function F-2(gamma) which can be used in the low Q(2), low x region is formulated. It includes both the VMD and t he QCD components, the latter based on arbitrary parton distributions in th e photon and suitably extrapolated to the low Q(2) region. The model using the GRV and GRS' parton densities describes reasonably well the existing hi gh energy data on F-2(gamma), sigma (gamma gamma) and the low Q(2) data on sigma (gamma * gamma). Predictions for high energy cross-section for gamma gamma scattering and gamma * gamma relevant to future Photon Colliders are given. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
