Inelastic cross sections for multistep direct neutron scattering on Nb-93 h
ave been calculated at incident neutron energies of 20 MeV and 26 MeV. The
enhanced non-DWBA matrix elements involving the biorthogonally conjugated w
ave functions were used. The results reveal significant contributions from
two-, three- and four-step reactions in agreement with experiment. (C) 2001
