Abstract
Our present investigation has answered questions pertaining to the REBa2Cu3 O7-delta (RE123, RE rare-earth elements)-coated conductor application when NdBa2(Cu1-xNix)(3)O7-delta (Ni-NdBCO) solid solution is used as a buffer la ver by the liquid-phase epitaxy (LPE) process. The NiO/Ni substrate has no substantial reaction in the Ni-saturated Nd-Ba-Cu-O liquid. There is no ess ential Ni interdiffusion between YBa2Cu3O7-delta (YBCO) and Ni-NdBCO LPE th ick films as evident from T-c values of 90 K obtained from multilayer YBCO/ Ni-NdBCO samples.
