Abstract
The literature on the functional neuroanatomy of psychiatric disorders is g rowing and is certain to expand in the future. To prepare psychiatric resid ents for the inevitable transformation in how psychiatric disorders are con ceptualized and treated, we have created a course focusing on the functiona l neuroanatomy of psychiatric disorders. The four sections of the course in clude neuroanatomy, functional neuroimaging techniques, cognitive neuroscie nce, and current evidence on the neuroanatomical basis of psychiatric disor ders. This article summarizes the organization and content of the course an d the very favorable evaluations of the course by residents.
