Abstract
It is shown that a formal link relates two-dimensional nonstationary hydrod ynamic solutions to the three-dimensional solutions of the magnetostatic eq uilibrium. This method is used for obtaining new exact analytical solutions of the magnetostatic equilibrium (flux rope type) from known hydrodynamics solutions (point vortex type).
