Abstract
Vapour pressures of 1-chlorobutane + 2-butanol, or 1-chlorobutane + 2-methy l-1-propanol at 10 temperatures between 278.15 and 323.15 K were measured b y a static method. Excess molar enthalpies and volumes were also measured a t 298.15 K. Reduction of the vapour pressure data to obtain activity coeffi cients and excess molar Gibb energies was carried out by fitting the vapour pressure data to the Redlich-Kister correlation according to Barker's meth od. In very diluted alcohol mixtures, and for both systems, azeotropic mixt ures with a minimum boiling temperature were observed. (C) 2001 Elsevier Sc ience B.V. All rights reserved.
