Abstract
Diluted magnetic semiconductor quantum wires of Zn1-x-yCdxMnySe were fabric ated by the electron beam lithography and wet chemical etching techniques. Photoluminescence spectra for the quantum wires with different wire width i ndicate evident quantum confinement effect and linear polarization effect, which may imply the anisotrophic alignment of the exciton dipole moments in the quantum wires. Large Zeeman effect accompanied by a suppression of the nonradiative recombination procedure of the excitons were observed in a ma gnetic field. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
