Sq. Liu et al., Studies of spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry on a zirconium hexacyanoferrate modified electrode, J ELEC CHEM, 502(1-2), 2001, pp. 197-203
Zirconium hexacyanoferrate (ZrHCF), a new Prussian blue analog with electro
activity, was immobilized on the surface of a gold electrode by electrochem
ical sweeps and characterized by infrared spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron
energy and voltammetry. The results show that the electroactive white depo
sit attached to the gold substrate is actually composed of zirconium hexacy
anoferrate(II). The electrochemical behavior of the ZrHCF modified electrod
e was studied by cyclic voltammetry; the peak current is proportional to th
e sweep rate up to 200 mV s(-1). Under optimized conditions the peak-to-pea
k separation is only 3 mV, showing the characteristics of the surface react
ion. Ion effects of the supporting electrolyte suggest that cations have a
considerable effect on the electrochemical behavior of the modified electro
