Abstract
Using ethylene glycol derivatives of aluminium isopropoxide and ethyl ortho silicate precursors in the sol-gel process, discrete aluminosilicate nanopa rticles were produced that had a strong Bronsted acidity, high surface area and high thermal stability; these properties were ascribed to a high dispe rsion of the aluminium atoms in the silica matrix.
