Abstract
In this work microsecond isomers in Te-130,Te-132 and Xe-134 are investigat ed. These nuclei are produced by thermal neutron induced fission of Pu-239 and Pu-241. The detection is based on time correlation between fission frag ments selected by the LOHENGRIN spectrometer at ILL (Grenoble) and the gamm a rays or conversion electrons from isomers. The 10(+)-->8(+) isomeric tran sition of Te-132 and Xe-134 was measured for the first time and the half-li fe of the analogous transition in Te-130 was remeasured. The systematic beh avior of the B(E2) values of this isomeric transition is studied in Sn, Te. Xe, and Ba isotopes close to Sn-132. A simple mechanism is proposed to exp lain the strong increase in the B(E2) strengths from the Sn to the Te isoto nes.
