Abstract
High-spin states in Pd-112 were studied using prompt gamma -ray spectroscop y with Gammasphere following heavy-ion-induced fission in the reaction O-18 + Pb-208 at 91 MeV. A new 8(+) level at 2638 keV was discovered with trans itions connecting it to the S rast band and the quasi-gamma band. The three , now established, closely spaced 8(+) states indicate a mixing between til e ground-state band, s-band, and quasi-gamma band. Several high-spin struct ures with likely negative parity half been extended to higher spin and it i s proposed that they are based on the nuh(11/2)((97/2)d(5/2)) and nuh(11/2) (s(1/2)d(3/2)) configurations.
