Abstract
We have successfully manufactured and tested prototypes of a mechanically s tabilized Bi2Sr2Ca1Cu2Ox (Bi-2212) 6-on-1 cable-in-conduit (CIC). The super conducting wire in the cable is reinforced with Inconel X-750 tubes to prov ide improved strain tolerance and greater ease of handling, We are providin g a detailed description of the manufacturing process. We have wound test c oils from the cable, and p;e are reporting on the preliminary testing of th e coils.
