Abstract
A Zeeman polarimeter with high time resolution is developed to measure the poloidal magnetic field of a tokamak plasma from the analysis of circular polarization of He II (4686 Angstrom). The polarimeter is suc cessfully applied to fast current ramping experiments in He-doped deut erium plasmas of JIPP T-IIU. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
