Abstract
The influence of P2O5 on the formation and hydration properties of C(4)A(3) (S) over bar has been studied here. Results show that the forming rate of C (4)A(3)(S) over bar is decreased by the stabilization of P2O5 to the transi tional resultant CA at 1300 degreesC for one hour; when soaking time is inc reased to three hours, adding a suitable amount of P2O5 can promote the for ming content of C(4)A(3)(S) over bar, but if the amount of P2O5 is more tha n 1%, the forming content of C(4)A(3)(S) over bar reduces. P2O5 will result in the tetragonal system structure of C(4)A(3)(S) over bar. At this experi mental condition, adding a suitable amount of P2O5 can increase the hydrati on activity of C(4)A(3)(S) over bar attributing to the distortion in the cr ystal lattice of C(4)A(3)(S) over bar.
