Abstract
In this study, rat primary hepatocytes were cultured on a non-woven PTFE fa bric coated with a copolymer of poly (amino acid)-urethane. (PAU) to examin e the expression of their original functions. In the culture dish, ammonium metabolic activity of hepatocytes cultured using the fabric coated with PA U is higher than that using collagen-coated polystyrene. It is also indicat ed that it is possible for hepatocytes to maintain the functions for long-t erm culture in the circulatory culture equipment with the fabric coated wit h PAU.
