Abstract
From the Posidonienschiefer (Liassic) of Southern Germany an ichthyosaur of the genus Stenopterygius almost two meter long is described which shows wi thin its rib cage the remains of an approximately 30 cm long actinopterygia n fish. Based on anatomical evidence the fish is tentatively recognized as a representative of the taxon Euthynotus incognitus (BLAINVILLE 1818). This is the first record of this species as prey of a Lower Jurassic ichthyosau r.
