Abstract
Incommensurate longitudinal spin density waves in Ce(Ru1-xRhx)(2)Si-2 (0.03 < x < 0.4) are investigated. Resistivity along c axis increases by 30% at the transition temperature (T-N) which indicates that gap opens on the Ferm i surface at T-N. For analysis we use the U = infinity Anderson lattice mod el where a bare conduction band has pseudo-one dimensional nesting characte r. Resulting from the leading order of 1/N-expansion, renormalized bands ar e obtained, whose lower band has heavy electron mass at the Fermi level and strong nesting character. Using the renormalized bands we calcurate T-N-n dependence, where the electron number (n) increases with substitution of Rh for Ru. T-N has a sharp peak around n = 1 (half-filling) and the broad pea k around n = 1/2 (quarter-filling), which result is consistent to experimen tal facts. To obtain the broad peak, both renormalized bands are found to p lay essential roles. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
