Abstract
Spatial charges, such as rare earth ions, impurities, vacancies and ionized lattice ions, exist generally in the phosphor layer of thin film electrolu minescent displays (TFELD). The influence of these charges on the transport properties of TFELD is investigated for the first time in this article thr ough phase shift analysis and Monte Carlo simulation. Scattering rates of s patial charges are calculated and compared with phonon scattering rates. Th e transport process of electrons under electric field is simulated through Monte Carlo method and the influence of spatial charges is investigated. (C ) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V.
