Abstract
Reaction of UCl4 with Li(2)fc.tmeda (fc = I,1'-ferrocenylene, tmeda = tetra methylethylenediamine) gave the tris(1,1'-ferrocenylene) uranium complex [L i-2(PY)(3)U(fc)(3)] (I) (PY = pyridine). X-ray analysis of a pyridine solva te of I revealed the propeller type structure of the U(fc)(3) fragment, wit h the planar cyclopentadienyl rings of each fc group being parallel and wit h U-C and U-Fe bond distances of 2.52(7) and 3.14(2) Angstrom, respectively .
