Abstract
Based on the measured compositions and pH values of saturated aqueous solut ions of Ca(OH)(2), the Ca(OH)(2) second-step dissociation constant and the product of activities L-a = a(CaOH+)(1-alpha)a(Ca2+)(alpha)a(OH-)(1+alpha) (where a(CaOH+), a(Ca+), and a(OH-) are the activities of CaOH+, Ca2+, and OH-, respectively, and alpha is the degree of the Ca(OH)(2) dissociation) w ere calculated. Equations for the temperature dependence of K-a and L-a at 298.15 less than or equal to T less than or equal to 353.15 K were obtained . The K-a and L-a were used in calculations of the solubilities and ionic c ompositions of saturated solutions of Ca(OH)(2) in water and in aqueous sol utions of some salts.
