Lt. Akhobedze et al., Analysis of the inclusive spectra of pi(-) mesons from nucleus-nucleus collisions in terms of light-front variables, PHYS ATOM N, 63(9), 2000, pp. 1584-1588
The spectra of pi(-) mesons originating from pC, HeC, CC, and CTa collision
s are analyzed in terms of the light-front variables xi and zeta. The angul
ar and momentum distributions of pi(-) mesons are studied in various region
s of the variables xi(+/-) and zeta(+/-). These distributions in the region
s xi(+) < <(xi)over tilde>(+) and xi(+) > <(xi)over tilde>(+) do not admit
a unified description. In the region xi(+) < <(xi)over tilde>(+), the distr
ibutions in question are consistent with predictions of the statistical mod
el. The temperature parameter T decreases almost linearly with increasing p
roduct of the mass numbers of colliding nuclei (that is, with increasing nu
mber of interacting nucleons). The distributions in the region xi(+) > <(xi
)over tilde>(+) are fitted to semiempirical forms. (C) 2000 MAIK "Nauka/Int
