Abstract
High-spin states in Cd113-116 have been investigated with the heavy-ion ind uced fission reaction Si-28 + Yb-176 at 165 MeV. The experiment was perform ed with the Eurogam II array. New rotational bands based on two quasi-parti cle states have been observed for even-even cadmium isotopes. A new level s cheme based on the 11/2(-) isomeric state is proposed for Cd-115 and the on e of (11)3Cd has been extended to spin (31/2(-)). Hartree-Fock calculations for even-even isotopes show a prolate deformation in this mass region. The decoupled bands identified in both odd nuclei are interpreted as being bui lt upon a low-Omega(11/2) quasi-neutron configuration.
