Abstract
g factors and lifetimes have been measured for the first 2(+) and 4(+) stat es of Ti-46,Ti-48 and Cr-50,Cr-52 employing the combined technique of proje ctile Coulomb excitation and transient magnetic fields. The same target was used in all measurements. The individual isotopes were provided by the ion source of the accelerator. These conditions guarantee high reliability and precision as demonstrated in earlier experiments. While the global behavio r of the data is well explained by full fp shell model calculations, distin ct deviations from theoretical predictions for Ti-46,Ti-48 might be attribu ted to excitations of the Ca-40 core.
