Abstract
Based on our previous work the de Haas-van Alphen effect in two-dimensional QED at finite temperature and density is investigated. It is shown that th is effect is demonstrated not only through magnetization oscillations, but also through chemical potential oscillations. Contrary to earlier work [And ersen and Haugset, Phys. Rev. D 51 (1995) 3073], the magnetization oscillat ion we studied has a correct non-relativistic limit at zero temperature and low particle densities. (C) 2000 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.
