M. Battaglia et al., High-resolution hybrid pixel sensors for the e(+)e(-) TESLA linear collider vertex tracker, NUCL INST A, 447(1-2), 2000, pp. 202-209
In order to fully exploit the physics potential of a future high-energy e()e(-) linear collider, a Vertex Tracker, providing high-resolution track re
construction, is required. Hybrid silicon pixel sensors are an attractive o
ption, for the sensor technology, due to their read-out speed and radiation
hardness, favoured in the high-rate environment of the TESLA e(+)e(-) line
ar collider design, but have been so far limited by the achievable single p
oint space resolution, In this paper, e a conceptual design of the TESLA Ve
rtex Tracker, based on a novel layout of hybrid pixel sensors with interlea
ved cells to improve their spatial resolution, is presented. (C) 2000 Elsev
