Abstract
We have measured high-resolution Ce 4d-4f resonant photoemission spectra of CeB6. In the on-resonance spectra, two peaks appear near the Fermi level(E F) We have revealed that one corresponds to the 4f(7/2)(1) final state wher eas the other one closer to E-F is due to a mixture of the tail of the Kond o peak (Gamma(8) final state) and its crystalline electric field (CEF) part ner (Gamma(7) final state). We also show that the CEF effect is mainly refl ected in the spectra near E-F and that the Kondo temperature can be properl y estimated from the high-resolution spectra near E-F by considering CEF.
