Abstract
The reaction of [{mu-eta(2)-C(R-1)=CHR2}(mu-CO)Fe-2(CO)(6)](-) with (mu-S-2 )Fe-2(CO)(6) forms (mu(3)-S)(2)Fe-3(CO)(9) (1) and/or anionic intermediates [{mu-eta(2)-C(R-1)=CHR2}(mu-S){Fe-2(CO)(6)}(2)(mu(4)-S)](-) (2) depending on the substituents R-1 and R-2. The actions of the anionic complexes 2 wit h alkyl halides, PhN2BF4 and acid chlorides give [mu-eta(2)-C(R-1)=CHR2](mu -RS)[Fe-2(CO)(6)](2)(mu(4)-S) (R = alkyl, Ph or acyl). The structures of (m u-eta(2)-CH=CHPh](mu-CH2=CHCH2S)[Fe-2(CO)(6)](2) (mu(4)- S)(.)0.5C(6)H(12) and (mu-eta(2)-CH=CH-furyl-2][mu-PhCH= CHC(O)S][Fe-2(CO)(6)](2)(mu(4)-S) we re determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.
