This paper mainly focuses on cross-effect of heat and mass transfer of capi
llary porous media which A.B.Luikov set up on irreversible thermodynamics p
rinciple. On the basis of perfecting the equations of heat and mass transfe
r, the heat and mass transfer parameters are determined curing drying proce
sses, and thermal gradient coefficient delta and moisture gradient coeffici
ent xi are obtained which show the cross-effect of heat and mass transfer.
Thus the fundamentals are provided for quantitative analysis of cross-effec
t of heat and mass transfer. The convective drying mathematical model under
the first unsteady boundary condition is therefore proposed. By the applic
ation of Henry transform, the theoretical solution of unsteady drying proce
ss is given and its validity is verified through experiments. Finally, by u
se of the mathematical model the influence of all factors on temperature an
d moisture distribution and the cross-effect of heat and mass transfer duri
ng drying processes are quantitatively analyzed. The influences of cross-ef
fect on heat and mass transfer are provided respectively. Mutual effect con
dition is also provided.
