Abstract
In this paper, a fiber coupling method is presented lo analyze the fiber-op tic velocity interferometric system for any reflector (optic VISAR) and the system has been developed. Optic VISAR ts applied to measure the velocity profile of a diffusely reflecting surface; the experimental results fit the theory analyses fairly well. The oscillation on the velocity profile clear ly shows a dispersion effect, which is the first to be obtained for such a low shocking measurement by VISAR. (C) 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
