Abstract
Some results of the Vavilov-Cherenkov radiation arising at a nonuniform mot ion of a charged particle in a radiator are presented. Considerable broaden ing of the width of VChR ring in the case of the broader radiator compared to the thinner one is observed. The particle velocity variation in the radi ator due to large energy losses of heavy ions is the only explanation of th is effect. (C) 1999 published by Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
