Abstract
Pyogenic granuloma is a polypoid form of capillary haemangioma that occurs on the skin and mucosal surface. The eruption of multiple pyogenic granulom a is a rare phenomenon. We report the case of a 73-year-old male with a 2 y ear history of intermittent lower gastrointestinal bleeding. Tc-99(m)-label led red blood cell scintigraphy was performed to rule out the possibility o f capillary haemangioma on the mucosal surface of the gastrointestinal trac t. The images showed disseminated haemangiomas involving the skull, abdomin al wall, intestine, scrotum and right leg. The final diagnosis of multiple pyogenic granuloma was made by skin biopsy. To the best of our knowledge, t his is the first case using Tc-99(m)-labelled red blood cell scintigraphy t o demonstrate multiple pyogenic granuloma.
