Abstract
Dimethyl carbonate can be synthesized from ethylene carbonate and meth anol by using hydrotalcite-type materials as base catalysts. Especiall y, Mg-Al hydrotalcite-type materials with low Al concentration in bruc ite-like layers and high OH- proportion in the intercalated anions giv e high yield of dimethyl carbonate.
