Abstract
Taking the Gamow-Teller beta-decay operator as well as isoscalar and i sovector multipole operators, the characteristic features of the respo nse function in nuclei far from the beta-stability line are illustrate d. The Hartree-Fock plus the random phase approximation (RPA) with Sky rme interactions is solved, taking into account simultaneously both th e isoscalar and isovector correlation in the self-consistent RPA, whic h is solved in the coordinate space by the Green's function method. Di splacement fields of some collective modes are also shown in order to obtain a deeper understanding of the dynamics.
