Abstract
The radiation oxidation layer of low-density polyethylene sheets was observ ed by means of scanning acoustic microscope and the depth of the layer was visualized. Acoustic images obtained from the cross-section of the sheet cl early showed the oxidized layer, which was at a reasonable depth according to dose rates. The experimental value was 0.11 mm at a dose rate of 10 kGy/ h, the same as the theoretical value.
