Abstract
Both theoretical and experimental findings of the photoresponse for wa ter splitting of pyrolytically prepared thin film iron oxide electrode s are given. Fur-ther, the spray time and the corresponding thickness of the Fe2O3 thin film have been optimized to have maximum photorespon se. The effect of iodine doping on the photoresponse of iron oxide was investigated. Some optical properties, viz. the absorption coefficien t of light and the band gap of the thin films of Fe2O3 have also been determined.
