Abstract
Bis(2,2'-biphenylylene)tellurane (1A) undergoes a ring opening reactio n on treatment with phenols to afford the oxytellurane [10-Te-4(C3O)] (3A). Structures of both telluranes (1A, 3A) were determined by X-ray crystallographic analysis, revealing that they are distorted trigonal bipyramids.
