Polymerization of acrylonitrile (PAN) in a capacitively coupled glow d
ischarge under magnetic enhancement was studied. The design aspects of
a magnetron electrode and its characteristics are described. The stud
y suggests that an improved magnetron design helps in achieving a high
er monomer conversion ratio that improves the quality of films and all
ows the use of lower system pressure. Thin, uniform, pinhole free film
