S. Chandrasekhar, SOME REMARKS ON THE STATE OF MATTER IN THE INTERIOR OF STARS, (REPRINTED FROM ZEITSCHRIFT FUR ASTROPHYSIK, VOL 5, PG 321-327, 1932), Journal of astrophysics and astronomy, 15(2), 1994, pp. 119
It is shown that for all stars for which the radiation-pressure is gre
ater than a tenth of the total pressure, an appeal to the FERMI-DIRAC
statistics to avoid the central singularity which arises in the discus
sions of the centrally condensed and the collapsed stars cannot be mad
e. The bearing of this result on the possible state of matter in the i
nterior of stars is indicated.
