Ni. Singh et al., CULTIVATION OF PLEUROTUS-PLATYPUS AND PLEUROTUS-SAJOR-CAJU IN IMPHAL, Journal of Food Science and Technology, 30(6), 1993, pp. 444-446
Cultivation of Pleurotus platypus and P. sajor-caju was studied using
three different agricultural and forest residues in Imphal, Manipur, a
long with the characterization of the fungal aerospora of the growing
room. Both the mushrooms gave maximum yield on hot water treated paddy
straw with a biological efficiency of 70 and 60%, respectively. It wa
s followed by cold water treated paddy straw, saw-dust and pine needle
s in the descending order. The concentration of the fungal spores insi
de the growing room was maximum (15x10(5) and 12x10(5) spores/m(3) of
air during the fruiting and post-harvest period of the mushroom, respe
ctively).
