Abstract
The complete nucleotide sequences of 23S rRNA genes from Bradyrhizobiu m, japonicum DSM 30131 and from closely related Rhodopseudomonas palus tris DSM 126 were determined. A specific hybridization probe for Brady rhizobium japonicum was designed and tested. The probe hybridized to n ucleic acids from all Bradyrhizobium japonicum strains tested and did not react with nucleic acids from other reference bacteria.
