Abstract
Isolated dislocation of the radial head is an uncommon injury. This in jury has been reported in children [2-4, 6, 9, 10]; in the skeletally mature it is extremely rare [1, 8, 11]. An irreducible dislocation has been previously reported in a young child [7], but no case has to dat e been reported in an adult. The present case is reported to demonstra te this rare injury and to suggest a possible explanation for the caus e of the irreducibility.
