Ag. Lavkin, DYNAMICS OF HIGGS FIELDS AND A ROUTE TO TURBULENCE IN THE THEORY OF SU(2) YANG-MILLS FIELDS, Physics of atomic nuclei, 58(9), 1995, pp. 1622-1624
The dynamics of SU(2) Yang-Mills (YM) fields, both free fields and fie
lds interacting with Higgs bosons, is investigated by the Poincare sur
face-of-section method and the method of Lyapunov maximum exponents. A
s for free YM fields and YM fields interacting with a Higgs condensate
, the route to turbulence in the system consisting of YM fields and Hi
ggs particles lies through an infinite sequence of period-doubling bif
urcations of the relevant phase trajectory. Prospects for future inves
tigations in this field, such as constructing a consistent dynamical t
heory of second-order phase transitions on the basis of the analogy be
tween such transitions and the bifurcation transition to chaos, and ta
king into account the effects of the quark degrees of freedom of hadro
n matter and of thermal and quantum vacuum fluctuations on the scenari
o of the development of turbulence in the theory of YM fields, are als
o discussed.
