Abstract
Feeding habits of Genetta genetta was studied through the analysis of 600 faeces monthly collected in the Ognon valley, western France. Avai lability of the major prey Apodemus sylvaticus was monthly assessed by trap-lines. The predominance of wood mice, the importance of birds an d the regular presence of insects characterized the diet. The predatio n upon wood mice was directly associated with the Apodemus availabilit ies. Evidences of correlations between the dietary variations and envi ronmental factors emphasized the influence of environmental variables on the feeding ecology of Genetta genetta.
