Ground-state properties of the superheavy elements (SHE) with 108 less
than or equal to Z less than or equal to 128 and 150 less than or equ
al to N less than or equal to 192 are investigated using both the Skyr
me-Hartree-Fock method with a density-independent contact pairing inte
raction and the macroscopic-microscopic approach with an average Woods
-Saxon potential and a monopole pairing interaction. Detailed analysis
of binding energies, separation energies, shell effects, single-proto
n and neutron states, equilibrium deformations, Q(alpha)-values, and o
ther observables is given.
