Abstract
Polycrystalline nickel-zinc ferrite powder was obtained by chemical co precipitation involving the corresponding metal nitrates and sodium hy droxide. The precipitate, when dried at 80 degrees C in air, was chara cterized by powder XRD, SEM and VSM measurements. It shows the formati on of cubic ferrite with saturation magnetization M(s) approximate to 44 emu/g. When calcined at 1200 degrees C, the magnetization reached 9 6% of the saturation value, M(S) approximate to 67 emu/g. The temperat ure dependence of magnetization confirmed the Curie temperature T-C ap proximate to 480 degrees C.
