Abstract
This is a review of the Japan-US workshop on high heat flux components and plasma surface interactions for next fusion devices which was hel d at Hokkaido University in Sapporo, Japan, from January 31 to Februar y 3, 1995. The workshop covers the following research areas: plasma fa cing components and plasma surface interactions in tokamaks and helica l devices, developments of high heat flux components, plasma surface i nteractions and plasma facing materials, tritium, and neutron damage. Many recent topics in these areas and very rapid progress on brazing c omponents and evaluation of low Z materials were presented.
